SPHERE SIGNATURE MASSAGE – A very peaceful and rejuvenating massage designed to relax and calm the body and mind. Through long gliding strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration, and shaking motions, blood is forced back towards the heart. This, in turn, increases the oxygen flow in the blood and releases toxins from the muscles. Much attention is paid to the origin and insertion points of the muscles. This is a light to medium pressure massage.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE – This form of massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release chronic tension in the body through slow, deep, strokes and deep finger pressure applied to constricted muscle areas. Deep tissue massage is wonderful for breaking up and releasing scar tissue and adhesions. This form of massage generally focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or following the massage. A lot of toxins are released from the muscles with deep tissue work.  This is a firm to deep pressure massage.

LOMI LOMI MASSAGE - Lomi Lomi is a very healing, Hawaiian Shamanic temple based massage that gently puts the individual into a meditative state, allowing for deeper work on the muscles and deeper relaxation.  Lomi Lomi is performed to rhythmic drumming music and incorporates massage techniques that allow the individual to feel as if he or she were weightless, suspended in water.  This can be a light to deep pressure massage, depending on your individual comfort level.

All above therapies MAY employ the use of Trigger Point work, Acupressure, a luxurious Hot Towel application, and Aromatherapy.

TRADITIONAL THAI MASSAGE – This massage is performed on a mat on the floor, with the client remaining fully clothed.  Utilizing gravity, the practitioner uses his/her body to achieve maximum weight and leverage.  Thai massage is often referred to as a meditative dance, in which the client and practitioner merge into one continuous movement.  Passive stretching combined with rhythmic compressions are used to increase flexibility while relieving tension in the muscles. Pressure is applied with hands, thumbs, forearms and feet.  Thai Massage not only calms the mind and nervous system, it balances the body’s energy.  The pressure on this massage varries depending on the client’s needs.

RAINDROP THERAPY – This treatment combines the science of aromatherapy and massage with reflexology. 9 different essential oils are dropped onto the spine and massaged into the spine with various techniques.  The oils help to detoxify, stimulate, and relax the body through the spinal column and nervous system. The treatment also includes a full body massage allowing for deeper detoxification and relaxation.

TRIGGER POINT THERAPY – Also called Myotherapy, Trigger Point work involves pressing on small (though sometimes large), constricted points that trigger pain in other muscles in the surrounding area often called “knots”. Oftentimes trigger points in the neck and shoulders may cause headaches while trigger points between the shoulder blades may cause neck or shoulder pain. To diffuse these trigger points, pressure is applied to the points for several seconds by means of the fingers, knuckles, or elbows. If the trigger point refuses to diffuse, cross fiber friction and other massage techniques may be employed to help warm up the tissue in order to facilitate the work. Trigger points are generally caused by injury to the muscle, muscle strain or emotional stress. The longer a trigger point stays in the muscle, the more resistant and dormant they become. It is not usually until one is under emotional or physical stress that one feels the latent trigger points. As with Deep Tissue work, Trigger Point work releases great amounts of toxins from the tissues. Trigger points contain lactic and ureic acids which are released into the bloodstream and lymph system during the treatment. It is extremely important to drink plenty of water following the massage in order to flush these toxins from the body. Failure to do so may result in sickness and increased soreness later.

ACUPRESSURE – Based on the Chinese principles of acupuncture, acupressure involves the use of finger pressure (without the needles) on specific energetic points throughout the body. Stimulating these points stimulates the meridian lines (energy lines carrying life energy, or “chi”) throughout the body. Western scientists have proven these points exist through the use of electrical equipment. Each meridian line governs a certain organ in the body. Stimulating these points helps to release congested and blocked energy and stimulates the organs, leading to better overall health. Acupressure is generally performed with the thumbs. Other massage techniques such as rubbing, kneading, percussion, and vibration may also be used. This technique can be performed sitting, standing, or lying down.

PREGNANCY MASSAGE – Perfect for the Mommy to be! This is a basic Swedish Massage, performed side-lying.  Pressure is light to medium.  Pregnancy massage may not be performed during the first trimester.

BACK, NECK, & SHOULDERS MASSAGE – This 30 minute massage is perfect when you do not have the time for a full body relaxing treatment.  Focus on back, neck, and shoulders or glutes, legs and feet. Light to deep pressure available.

SPA REFLEXOLOGY – Traditional Chinese Medicine states that the feet are maps for the entire body. It is believed that applying pressure to certain areas of the feet stimulates and works all of the major organs and systems in the body. Reflexology can also be performed on the face and ears to relieve sinus congestion and restore normal breath function. A relaxing, spa exfoliation and foot mask is also a part of this foot treatment.

REIKI AND CHAKRA HEALING – Reiki originated in Tibet and has been practiced for over 2,500 years. The term Reiki means Universal Life Force Energy. In this form of energy work, life energy (chi, ki, prana) is directly applied to the client through a series of hand positions. The client is clothed, and Jennifer places her hands directly on the client, over his/her clothes, and the energy flows through Jennifer’s hands into the client’s body so that the body may then begin to heal itself. Once in the body, the Reiki energy flows straight to the root cause of the client’s dis-ease. Additionally, Jennifer will work her way through the entire chakra system, balancing and stabilizing each chakra’s flow of energy to bring the client back to inner peace and harmony.

AROMATHERAPY – Jennifer uses 100% pure essential oils. These oils can be added to any massage treatment. Jennifer will work with you to customize the oils to your particular health condition. Aromatherapy custom blends are also available through the retail portion of the shop, as well as a whole line of uncut, 100% therapeutic essential oils (organic and wild crafted when available).

HYDROTHERAPY – Jennifer applies heat or cold to the body depending on what the body needs. Heat generally stimulates the blood vessels, increases circulation, and helps to relax muscles. Cold makes the blood vessels constrict and reduces inflammation. Jennifer may suggest at home hydrotherapy options for you in addition to your massage.
